If you have IO profiles configured and assigned to your assets, you can view recent input activity and watch live updates using the Tracking screen's History layer. For example, you can confirm whether the roads in a specific area have been cleaned by your street sweepers and watch as the assets move on to the next street. Each input's path will be color-coded and use a gradient scale, with darker pathlines indicating the most recent activity. If you are watching two inputs, a third gradient color line will also be displayed showing where both were in their active state. You can view the activity for up to 40 assets for one or two inputs, with a maximum of a 24-hour period.

To view recent input activity and monitor it live, follow these steps:


  1. In the sidebar menu on the left, click .
      
    The Tracking screen will appear and display the assets of the group you have selected in the Group Chooser.
      
  2. If you would like to track the inputs of assets in a different group (or groups), follow these steps:
    Note: Skip to step 3 if you want to use a filter instead. Go to step 4 to view a single asset.
     
    Caution: Make sure that you select a group with 40 or fewer assets (the maximum number the History layer can display).
    1. Click the Groups drop-down arrow at the top of the screen.
       
      Your selected group will be displayed. If it has any subgroups, an expansion arrow will appear to the right of its name.
      Note: If you want to view a group above this group, you'll need to change the group you have chosen in the Group Chooser, as shown in Choosing a Group to View Globally. If you want to view a group that is above your assigned group in your account hierarchy, you'll need to obtain different permissions from your organization's software administrator.
       
    2. If one of the groups you need is a subgroup of the main group, click the expansion arrow ().
        
      If you want to see the input activity of one or more of their subgroups, click  to the right of the higher-level group's name — and keep doing so down the hierarchy until you reach the groups you want.
       
    3. Select the groups' check boxes. ( means selected, and  deselected.)
        
    4. Click Done.
       
    5. Skip to step 5.
       
  3. If you would like to view the input activity of certain assets you filter for, click the filter drop-down arrow at the top of the screen, select the needed entities, and click Done. (For example, you could click the Asset Status drop-down arrow and then select Moving.) See Saving an Asset or Geofence View as a Filter for more details.
     
    Then skip down to step 5.
    Note: Alternatively, you can apply a saved filter, as shown in Viewing Assets or Geofences Saved as a Filter.
     
    Caution: Again, make sure that the filter results in 40 or fewer tracked assets (the maximum number the History layer can show).
  4. To view the recent input history of a single asset, follow these steps:
    Caution: This will work only if the group you have selected in the Group Chooser has 40 or fewer assets; if it has more, you will get the error ". . . Please reduce the number of assets" (despite the fact that you have searched for an individual asset).
    1. In the Search field at the top left of the screen, type the asset's name.
       
      Matching entities will appear in a list.
        
    2. Click the name of the asset you need.
        
  5. In the vertical toolbar at the top right of the map, click the Map Layers icon ().
      
    The Map Layers widget will appear.
         
  6. Turn on the History layer by clicking its selector. ( means selected, and  deselected.)
     
  7. Click its expansion arrow.
      
    The History layer options will appear.
     
  8. If it's not already chosen, select View by Input. 
        
    Labels for all the inputs of the IO profiles assigned to your selected assets will be displayed. (See the IO Profiles folder for articles about IO profiles and Editing an Asset for how to assign them to an asset.)
     
  9. Select the numeric value in the View Activity from Past X Hrs field and type the number of hours in the recent past for which you'd like to see input activity.
    Caution: You can choose a maximum of 24 hours.
  10. Select the labels of the types of inputs whose activity you need to see on the map. (You can choose one or two inputs at a time.)
     
    Gradient lines will appear below the input labels you chose. If you clicked two inputs, they will have different colors, such as blue and green, and a third gradient line will represent both.
     
    Note: In this example, current Blower activity, plus up to six hours ago, is color-coded blue; activity that occurred between six and twelve hours ago is a slightly lighter blue; events from twelve hours to eighteen hours past an even lighter shade of blue; and so on.
    Pathlines will be displayed on the map to show where the specified inputs were active. The colors of the lines will match the colors of the labels and gradient scales. (Inactive pathlines will be gray, which means that the vehicle was moving but not using its input.) The arrows along the paths show which direction the asset was traveling.
    Caution: You might have to wait a bit for the paths to appear on the map.
     
    Input activity for the assets will be updated in real time, with the map data being refreshed every 60 seconds.
     
  11. If you select a single asset by clicking its icon on the map, the map will pan and zoom in on it and its pathline, and the paths and markers of other assets will be hidden.
      
  12. To move the visible area of the map, you can click and drag.
     
  13. You can zoom in by clicking on the vertical toolbar at the bottom right and zoom out using .
