If you have IO profiles configured and assigned to your assets, you can view recent input activity and watch live updates using the Tracking Beta screen's Live History widget. For example, you can confirm whether the roads in a specific area have been cleaned by your street sweepers and watch as the assets move on to the next street. Each input's path will be color-coded and use a gradient scale, with darker path lines indicating the most recent activity. If you are watching two inputs, a third gradient color line will also be displayed showing where both were in their active state. You can view the activity for up to 120 assets for one or two inputs, with a maximum of a 24-hour period.

Note: On the legacy Tracking screen, this feature was part of the Map Layers widget and was called the History layer. The Tracking Beta screen has improved the offering and given it its own widget, as shown below.

To see how to view recent and live driving events (such as Ignition On and Stop), go to Mapping Recent and Live Basic Asset Activity Using the Tracking Beta Screen's Live History Widget.

To view recent input activity and monitor it live on the Tracking Beta screen, follow these steps:

  1. On the sidebar menu on the left, click .

  2. Click Tracking Beta on the flyout menu that appears.

The Tracking Beta screen will open and display the assets of the group you have selected in the Group Chooser. (See Choosing a Group to View Globally for details on how to change your chosen group.)

Note: When you select assets using the Live History widget, only assets that are currently displayed will be listed in the search results, so it might help you to reduce the number to make it simpler to find the ones you want to view history for. You can limit the assets shown by name using the Groups/Assets filter or by property using one of the other filters — or apply a saved filter. See Saving an Asset or Geofence View as a Filter on the Tracking Beta Screen and Viewing Assets or Geofences Saved as a Filter on the Tracking Beta Screen for details.
  3. In the toolbar at the top right of the map, click the Live History icon ().

The Live History options will appear.

  4. If it's not already chosen, select View by Input.

  5. Click the Display History for Past Hours drop-down arrow and select the number of hours in the recent past for which you'd like to see input activity.

Alternatively, you can select the time value, type the amount of time you want, and then click the remaining value on the list.
Caution: You can choose a maximum of 24 hours.
  6. At the top of the dialog box, click Select Asset(s).

The asset selector will be displayed.

  7. In the Search Assets field, type a character or two in the name of the asset(s) you want.

Matching assets will appear in a list.

  8. Select the check boxes for the assets you want to view.
Note: You can click Select All to choose all the matching assets.
Caution: The maximum number of assets the Live History widget can display is 120.

  9. Click Add at the top-right of the dialog box.

The assets you selected will be listed, along with their type icons and number of inputs.

  10. Repeat steps 7 through 9 for as many assets as you need.

  11. Click Update Display.

Just the assets you chose will be displayed on the map, and the names of the inputs they have will be added to the Live History dialog box.

  12. Select the icon(s) of the inputs you want to view.
Note: You can display only one or two inputs at a time.
Gradient lines will appear below the input labels you chose. If you clicked two inputs, they will have different colors, such as blue and green, and a third gradient line will represent both.

Note: In this example, current Blade activity, plus up to 6 hours ago, is color-coded blue; activity that occurred between 6 and 12 hours ago is a slightly lighter blue; events from 12 hours to 18 hours past an even lighter shade of blue; and so on.
  13. Click Update Display again.

Path lines will be displayed on the map to show where the inputs were active.

The colors of the lines will match the colors of the labels and gradient scales. (Inactive path lines will be charcoal gray [almost black], which means that the vehicle was moving but not using its input.)
Caution: You might have to wait a few seconds for the paths to appear on the map.
Input activity for the assets will be updated in real time, with the map data being refreshed every 60 seconds.

By default, assets you didn't select will be hidden.

  14. If you want to see other assets in the area as well, you can deselect the Hide Non-selected Asset(s) toggle in the Live History widget.

  15. To move the visible area of the map, you can click and drag.

  16. You can zoom in and out by clicking and  on the toolbar at the top right.
