Using the Tracking Beta screen's Live History widget, you can view recent asset activity and watch live updates. Each asset's path will be color-coded to differentiate it from other assets you are monitoring. You can view the activity for up to 120 assets, with a maximum of a 24-hour period.
Note: On the legacy Tracking screen, this feature was part of the Map Layers widget and was called the History layer. The Tracking Beta screen has improved the offering and given it its own widget, as shown below.

To view recent driving activity and monitor it live, follow these steps:
- On the sidebar menu on the left, click
.
- Click Tracking Beta on the flyout menu that appears.
The Tracking Beta screen will open and display the assets of the group you have selected in the Group Chooser. (See Choosing a Group to View Globally for details on how to change your chosen group.)
Note: When you select assets using the Live History widget, only assets that are currently displayed will be listed in the search results, so it might help you to reduce the number to make it simpler to find the ones you want to view history for. You can limit the assets shown by name using the Groups/Assets filter or by property using one of the other filters — or apply a saved filter. See Saving an Asset or Geofence View as a Filter on the Tracking Beta Screen and Viewing Assets or Geofences Saved as a Filter on the Tracking Beta Screen for details. - In the toolbar at the top right of the map, click the Live History icon (
).
The Live History options will appear.
- If it's not already chosen, select View by Asset.
The Key section explains what the map icons represent (such asfor an Ignition On event).
- Click the Display History for Past X Hours drop-down arrow and select the number of hours in the recent past for which you'd like to see asset activity.
Alternatively, you can select the time value, type the amount of time you want, and then click the remaining value on the list.
Caution: You can choose a maximum of 24 hours. - At the top of the dialog box, click Select Asset(s).
The asset selector will be displayed.
- In the Search Assets field, type a character or two in the name of the asset(s) you want.
Matching assets will appear in a list.
- Select the check boxes for the assets you want to view.
Note: You can click Select All to choose all the matching assets.
Caution: The maximum number of assets the Live History widget can display is 120. - Click Add at the top-right of the dialog box.
The assets you selected will be listed, along with their type icons and number of inputs.
- Repeat steps 7 through 9 for as many assets as you need.
- Click Update Display.
Path lines will be displayed on the map to show where your selected assets traveled. Each asset's path will have its own color. The arrows along the paths show which direction the asset was traveling.
Caution: You might have to wait a few seconds for the paths to appear on the map.
Asset activity will be updated in real time, with the map data being refreshed every 60 seconds. The events that occurred over the specified time frame will appear along the path, with the icons listed in the Live History key.
- You can click an event icon on the map to see a pop-up with detailed information about it, including the asset name, driver (if available), location, and when the event occurred.
By default, assets you didn't select will be hidden.
- If you want to see other assets in the area as well, you can deselect the Hide Non-selected Asset(s) toggle in the Live History widget.
- To move the visible area of the map, you can click and drag.
- You can zoom in and out by clicking
and
on the toolbar at the top right.
