The Admin - Devices screen has a Search field at the top to enable you to easily find exactly the devices you need. After you perform a search, you can save it to quickly pull up those devices again.


Searching for a Device


To search for a device, follow these steps:


  1. In the sidebar menu on the left, click .
     
  2. Click Devices on the flyout menu that appears.
     
    The Admin - Devices screen will appear.
     
    All the devices in the group you have selected in the Group Chooser will be listed (plus those of its subgroups, if you have View Subgroups toggled on at the bottom of the screen).
    Note: Your search will return results only for that group (and its subgroups, with View Subgroups selected). See Choosing a Group to View Globally for details on how to change your chosen group.
  3. If you want to specify the field by which to search, click the Any Field drop-down arrow and select it (such as device name or ESN).
     
    To search using any field, leave this set to Any Field.
     
  4. Type the device name, ESN, or other field you chose in the Search field and press Enter.
    Caution: You must include the whole name or ID. Partial search criteria will yield no results!
     
    Note: You can copy and paste a large number of ESNs or other device identifiers in the Search bar. (You can use just spaces OR commas to separate the ESNs; either will work.)
     
    Some field choices, such as Device Type and Status, will give you a drop-down list from which to choose.
    Only devices that match your search criteria will appear in the grid.
      
    Your search criteria will appear at the top left of the grid. You can clear the search by clicking  or Clear All.


Saving a Search


You can save a search you've made so that you can quickly find it later as follows:


  1. Perform the steps in the preceding section to search for the device(s).
      
  2. Click Saved Search.
     
  3. Click Save As.
     
    The Save Search drop-down box will be displayed.
      
  4. In the Enter Name to Save Query box, type a name for the search that will easily identify it for you later.
     
  5. Click Save.
     
  6. To view your saved search when you return to the Admin - Devices screen, follow these steps:
     
    1. Click the Saved Search drop-down arrow.
       
      A drop-down list will offer all your previously saved searches as choices.
        
    2. Select the search results you need.
      Note: To load a new search, click the Saved Search drop-down arrow again and make a different selection.
       
      You can click Clear All to remove the previously loaded results.
