This article covers the various features of the new iOn site,

The default startup screen is Tracking, and it displays the assets of the group you have selected in the Group Chooser on the map. (See Navigating the Tracking Screen for details about it.)

Note: In iOn, we use the term asset for the equipment you are tracking; generally speaking, this will mean vehicle, but it also could be farm equipment, cargo containers — anything of value to you that could be in motion and therefore trackable.

The Site Banner

At the top of the site, you will see the banner, which can contain the following:

  • : This is simply the site name.
  • : This opens a dialog box that offers you a quick tour of the new iOn site layout. This will no longer appear if you have taken the tour.
  • : This toggles between new iOn and the legacy site.
  • : Click this to open a drop-down widget that lists notifications for alerts. The count of unread notifications appears to the top right of the bell. If there is no number, all your notifications have been marked as read.
  • : This displays the name of the group whose assets you are currently viewing. Click either the icon or group name to open the Group Chooser, which you can use to change the group each screen you access will view first. (See Choosing a Group to View Globally for details.)
  • : This displays the username you use to log in to iOn. Click the text of your username (or the profile icon with your initials) to open a pop-up with options to update your user profile settings, access this KB, contact Customer Support, view CalAmp's privacy policy, or log out. (See Viewing Your Profile and Setting Your Preferences for details on changing your preferences.)

The Sidebar Menu

Along the left side of the screen is the site's main sidebar menu.

These are the options you'll see (depending on what modules your organization has):

  • Dashboard: Dashboards provide key information about your fleet's overall performance in an at-a-glance view. The Fleet Dashboard offers several widgets, including My Fleet, which displays asset data such as counts and types and a pie chart of active/inactive assets; Fleet Utilization, which provides charts and graphs that help you visualize how your assets are being used across your fleet; Fleet Safety, which reports harsh events and safety violations; and Driver Scorecard, which shows a driver leaderboard and day-to-day driver scoring trends. The Devices Dashboard presents data on your devices' capability to report to iOn and whether any assets have no paired LMUs (plus any units that have no associated assets).
  •  Tracking: The Tracking screen enables you to locate and track your fleet assets and to map a history of their reported GPS events.
  •  Geofence Events: The Geofence Events screen lists your geofence events (when your assets entered and exited your geofences, geocoded areas of interest) and enables you to acknowledge them. You create your geofences on the Admin - Geofences screen (see Adding a Geofence) or in Tracking (see Creating a Geofence on the Tracking Screen).
  •  Reports: iOn's reports can provide you with all kinds of information about your fleet, including the total miles your vehicles have driven, asset history, idling details, engine hours, stop data, when assets have entered and exited your geofences, fault codes, fuel efficiency, and operator performance.
  • MaintenanceThe Maintenance module lists the assets that are due for service and displays upcoming services scheduled for a selected asset (and when services were performed on it in the past). You add the required services and schedules for your assets in Admin - Maintenance.
  •  Admin: The Admin menu contains many utilities your system administrator will use, including options for managing your fleet’s assets, devices, drivers, users, roles, groups, routes, geofences, notifications, maintenance schedules, driver/asset schedules, IO profiles, and driver scoring infraction weights.
  •  Resource Center: The Resource Center offers options to share feedback about the new iOn site with our developers and to check out helpful documentation, such as this KB. It also includes announcements of new release features.
