INTRODUCING OUR BRAND-NEW REPORTING ENGINE

We previously announced our new reporting platform that was available only as a beta for some customers. Now, we are making the upgraded reports available for all our users who have access to the Reports screen. You’ll notice the following improvements:

  • Faster reports: Quicker data retrieval means more efficient decision-making.
  • Enhanced customization: You can easily configure reports to suit your specific business needs.
  • Advanced analytics: You’ll be able to gain deeper insights with sophisticated, user-friendly tools.
  • A streamlined interface: You’ll navigate through a more straightforward and intuitive user experience. This is the launch screen:

Note: You can access this screen by clicking  and then Analytics & Reports on the flyout menu that appears.

  • Scalable capabilities: As your business grows, our engine adapts, handling larger data sets with ease.
  • Improved results:  You can return data for more assets and larger date ranges, and the filters provide more control to get just the information you need.
  • All the data you need: All the reports you are used to are still available, although some reports have slightly different names. Go to What Reports Are Available in the New Platform? for a complete list.

RESOURCES FOR TRAINING

You can find help articles on how to run, schedule, and customize the new reports at Using the New Reports Engine.

You can register for a webinar with live training on the new reports at CalAmp New Analytics & Reporting.

In addition, you can find a video walkthrough of the new upgraded reports offering at CalAmp Application Analytics & Reports.

Caution: Currently, both report platforms are available, but the legacy reports will be sunsetted on February 29. This means that beginning in March, you will be able to run reports using the new platform only.

IMPROVED POP-UP VIDEO WINDOW FOR TRACKING HISTORY

For our CalAmp Vision customers, we have improved the pop-up window that shows videos when you are mapping asset history: The redundant event row has been removed (as the event name appears in the pop-up header), and we replaced the full-screen icon with an option to open the Vision dialog box.

CONFIGURING YOUR OWN SFTP SERVER FOR THE NEW REPORTS

For customers using the new reports platform, we added the ability to set up an SFTP server (to house scheduled reports or larger reports) via a new section in the Edit Group dialog box, SFTP Server.

VIEWING BATTERY PERCENTAGE ON THE DEVICES SCREEN

For our cargo-monitoring (supply-chain) customers, we added a sortable Battery % column to the Admin -Devices grid, which will show the battery percentage remaining for the device (if the information is available), plus a color-coded battery icon that indicates the level range (red for 0-20%, yellow for 21-50%, and green for 51% or higher). Note that this column isn’t displayed by default but can be added via the column selector.

CASE-INSENSITIVE FILTERING ON THE ADMIN - GEOFENCES SCREEN

On the Admin - Geofences screen, we made the column filters not case sensitive, so “Worksite” and “worksite” will return the same results.

REMOVED THE JAPANESE LANGUAGE OPTION

We removed Japanese as an option from dialog boxes that have a Default Language drop-down list.
