REQUESTING VISION VIDEOS AND VIEWING REQUESTED CAPTURES

For our CalAmp Vision customers, we have added the ability to submit a request for a video capture for a specific time frame from the Tracking History grid. In the event’s row, you can click  to request the video. This will launch the Request Video dialog box, in which you can specify the details of the capture you need, including the start date and time, duration (between 1 and 5 minutes), and video quality.

After you’ve made a request, you can go to the new Vision Library screen to check its status. On this page, you can both view and download videos from previous requests as soon as they are ready.

NOTE: Your user role will need to have the Vision privilege in order to request videos or even view the new Vision Library screen. Also, your available video history depends on the dashcam’s storage configuration and trip activity.

ZOOMING TO YOUR BOUNDARY AREA WHEN YOU ARE PERFORMING AN ASSET HISTORY BOUNDARY SEARCH

On the Tracking screen, when you map an asset’s history in a certain area (also called a boundary search), you will now see that the map zooms to the extent of the boundary you drew (plus some padding), even if you had an asset selected that is outside the boundary. (Previously, the map would zoom to the chosen asset instead of the boundary; now, the selection will be cleared.)

SPECIFYING THE BADGE/FOB ID TYPE AT THE GROUP LEVEL AND IMPROVED LAYOUT FOR THE ADD/EDIT GROUP DIALOG BOX

You can now specify the type of badge/fob ID your drivers will be using at the group level. We have added an ID Type drop-down list to the Add/Edit Group dialog box for this, in which you can select iButton or Other. As part of this change, we optimized the layout of the dialog box, making Asset, Driver, Route, and Geofence their own sections with Types and Categories as subheadings (as needed).

In addition, we removed the iButton/Other drop-down list from the Add/Edit Driver dialog box (as this will now be chosen at the group level). You still enter the actual ID number in the Add/Edit Driver dialog box’s Badge/Fob ID field, either by scanning or typing, as before.

NOTE: When you select iButton or Other for a group’s ID type, this will be inherited by all of the subgroups. As such, we recommend that you set the ID type for your highest-level group if you are using the same one throughout your organization.
