IMPROVED PERFORMANCE

We reduced the startup time for the site, so it will load much faster after login.

In addition, we made the following improvements to the Tracking screen:

  • The performance of the filters at the top of the screen, asset list, asset details pane, asset card options (such as Find Nearby), and asset list breadcrumb has been optimized.
  • When you click away from a filter or dialog box, you’ll notice that the feature will close more quickly.
  • The map performance has been enhanced to speed up asset loading, panning, and zooming.
  • When using various features while on the Tracking page, such as the asset list, the Table/Map view, your user profile, and the geofence widget, you’ll see that the load time for the displayed assets when you return to tracking has been decreased.

MAPPING ASSET HISTORY IN A CERTAIN AREA

We added the ability to map the history of asset activity in a specific geographic region via a new Asset History report filter, Boundary. As in legacy iOn, you draw a shape on the map, and only events that occurred in that area for your specified time period will be displayed. The boundary shape will persist throughout your user session; to remove it, select Clear in the Boundary filter.

MAPPING HISTORY FOR MULTIPLE ASSETS

We added the ability to map the history of events for multiple assets. You can still open the Asset History report from the Tracking screen for one asset but then add more using the Assets filter (new to the Asset History report). Note that the number of assets times the number of days cannot exceed 40 (so you could return the history for 40 assets for one day, or 20 assets for two days). In addition to the Assets filter, we’ve added Groups, Category, and Asset Type filters (which will appear at the top of the screen with the already existing Dates and Events filters).

PERSISTING TRACKING SCREEN CONFIGURATIONS ACROSS USER SESSIONS

We changed the Tracking page so that any map settings you’ve configured will persist across sessions; for example, if you turn off asset clustering and log out, when you log back in, you’ll see that clustering is still disabled. In addition to clustering, this applies to geofence visibility, opacity, and borders; viewing traffic incidents and/or live updates and your traffic opacity setting; and weather updates and the Weather opacity value. Note that this does not apply to the History layer or any custom layers.

VIEWING A HISTORY REPLAY OF EVENTS

We added the ability to view a history replay of events for an asset to the Asset History report, which will step through each event chronologically, one after another. To start the replay, click  on the map toolbar.

SPECIFYING AN ASSET’S ENGINE TYPE

We added an Engine Type field to the Add/Edit Asset dialog box, in which you can specify if the asset has an engine type of Gas, Diesel, Hybrid, or Electric. We also added an Engine Type column to the Admin - Assets grid.

VIEWING ENGINE HOURS IN THE ASSET DETAILS PANE

We added an asset’s engine hours to its details pane on the Tracking screen, which will appear under Diagnostics, if available.

SETTING HOW DATES WILL APPEAR

We added the ability for you to specify how dates will appear for you on iOn screens – with the month or day value first; in the Preferences section of My Profile, there is a new Date Format field with options to use your current group’s setting, MM/DD/YYYY, or DD/MM/YYYY.

EDITING SHARED PROPERTIES FOR MULTIPLE DEVICES

We added the ability for Admin users to edit fields for multiple devices at once – for properties they have in common, such as group assignment.

DISPLAYING ASSETS AUTOMATICALLY AFTER THE HISTORY LAYER IS DISABLED

We changed the behavior of the Tracking screen when the History layer is disabled; previously, the Assets layer would remain disabled; now it will be automatically enabled. As a result, you will immediately see your assets when you turn the History layer off.

DELETING ROUTES

We added the ability for Admin users to delete routes, using the Actions menu’s new Delete Route option on the Admin - Routes screen.

SHOWING ROUTE DATA IN THE ASSET DETAILS PANE AND ASSET POP-UP

We added a Route label to the asset details pane and asset pop-up window with a value of the asset’s assigned route. This will appear only if the asset has a route association.
