Before you can get started with the CalAmp application, you'll need to be added as an authorized user by your organization's software administrator (or another CalAmp user with privileges to add you). You'll know when your account has been initiated because you'll be sent a Welcome to the CalAmp Application email.

Caution: Before you log in, be aware that as a CalAmp application user, it is your responsibility to keep your username and password secure. You individually are legally responsible for all activities of your account, so you must never share its use with others.

By accepting your account, you agree to immediately notify CalAmp of any unauthorized use of your username and password or any other breach of security of the CalAmp site you become aware of.

See CalAmp Disclaimer and Login Security for more information.

In this article, you'll find four different sections, in the following order: how to log in directly to the CalAmp application, how to log in the first time (just after you receive the Welcome to the CalAmp Application message), how to log in to legacy iOn and switch to the new platform, and how to log out.

Logging In to the CalAmp Application

Follow these steps to log in to the application directly:

  1. In a browser, navigate to https://ion.calamp.com.

    The CalAmp application will launch.

Note: If you've logged in previously and selected Remember Me, your username and password will be filled in for you, and you can skip down to step 5.
  2. Type your username in the Username field.

  3. In the Password field, type your password.

  4. Click Remember Me if you want the site to remember your username and password for later logins.
Warning: Do not select Remember Me if you are using a shared device; this will store your password as well as your username, so you'd be allowing others to use your account — which you should NEVER do. Be aware that you are responsible for all activities ascribed to your login credentials. (See CalAmp Disclaimer and Login Security for more information.)
  5. Click Sign In.

The CalAmp application will launch and display your default landing screen (usually the Tracking screen, unless you've changed it in My Profile).

Logging In for the First Time

When your CalAmp application account is initially created, you can follow these steps to log in for the first time:

  1. Open the Welcome to CalAmp Application email.

In it, you'll find your login credentials, including a temporary password.

  2. Click the Click to Launch the CalAmp App link in the email.

The CalAmp application website will launch.

  3. Type (or copy and paste) the username provided in the email in the Username field.

  4. In the Password field, type (or copy and paste) the temporary password from the email.
Warning: Do not select Remember Me for this login (unless you want to use the temporary password going forward). You can choose it in subsequent logins if you are NOT using a shared device. Remember Me stores your password as well as your username, so setting this on a device others use as well will allow them to use your account — which you should NEVER do. Be aware that you are responsible for all activities ascribed to your login credentials. (See CalAmp Disclaimer and Login Security for more information.)
  5. Click Sign In.

The Tracking screen will be displayed, showing your assigned group's assets. (If you'd like to change your startup screen, follow the steps at Viewing Your Profile and Setting Your Preferences.)
Note: Although you are welcome to continue using the temporary password CalAmp provides you, you might want to switch to a more user-friendly one. Follow the steps at Changing Your Password When Logged In to do so.

Logging In to Legacy iOn and Switching to the CalAmp Application

Follow these steps to log in to legacy iOn and then change to the CalAmp application:

  1. In a browser, navigate to https://connect.calamp.com/ion.

Cal/Amp's previous iOn website will launch.

The legacy iOn site will launch and display the Tracking screen, with your default group's vehicles and other assets shown on the map (unless you've changed your startup screen).

  6. In the banner, select the iOn Preview toggle.

The CalAmp application will open to its Tracking screen.

Logging Out of the CalAmp Application

To log out, follow these steps:

  1. Click your username in the site banner.

The user profile drop-down box will appear.

  2. Click Log Out.

You'll be logged out and returned to the login screen.
