You might need to find fleet vehicles that are near an asset — for example, if a truck is in an accident and you need a close-by vehicle to go pick up the driver and their cargo. To find a nearby asset, follow these steps:
- Track the asset you want to search near as shown in Tracking a Group or Asset.
- In the asset list or asset grid, click the asset's name to view its details pane.
Note: Alternatively, you could click its icon on the map, click the Find Nearby icon in its asset pop-up window, and skip down to step 4. - Click the Find Nearby icon () in the Asset Details pane.
The Find Nearby options will appear in the pane.
- Select the text in the Distance field and type the number of miles (or kilometers, if that's your default unit of measure) from the asset you'd like to search for other vehicles.
Note: You can use precise distances if needed, such as 10.3, in .1 mi/km increments.
If you prefer, you can click the handle on the slider () and drag it to the right to increase the value or to the left to decrease it. - Click Find.
All nearby fleet assets that are within your search range will be displayed on the map, and their data will appear in the asset list to the left of the map.
Caution: CalAmp might return "No Assets Found" at first, but give it a couple seconds, and results will be displayed (if available in the radius you selected).
The assets will be listed with the closest on top, and the distance from each vehicle to the original asset will be in the card's Distance field.
Note: You can get directions from your current location to an asset by following the steps in Navigating from Your Current Location to an Asset.
