If you would like to add several operators/drivers to your iOn account at once, you can import all their data in bulk. To do so, follow these steps:

Note: For details on how to add a single operator, see Adding an Operator. For an explanation of the features of the Admin - Operators screen, go to Navigating the Admin - Operators Screen.

  1. Click  >> Admin >> Operators.

The Admin - Operators screen will appear and display the Manage Operators list.

  2. Click Import Operators at the bottom of the screen.

The Import Operators dialog box will appear.

  3. Click Download Template.

The file operators.xlsx will be downloaded.

  4. Open the file.

The fields that are required have a red background (Group Name, First Name, and Last Name).
Note: The badge number is their employee ID number or perhaps an RFID number.
  5. Fill in the required fields, plus any of the other data you'd like to include, placing each operator's properties horizontally across (in a row).
Note: You may need to enable editing first, depending on your settings.
  6. After saving the file, return to iOn and click Browse in the Import Operators dialog box.

  7. Navigate to your updated operators.xlsx file and open it.

The dialog box will state at the bottom how many operators you will be importing.

  8. Click Save.

A message will appear, saying that your operators are being imported. When the import is finished, you'll receive the Operators Imported success message.

    You'll have these options:

    • Download Results: Downloads an Excel file that lists the operators that were successfully imported, plus all the settings that were applied for them.

    • Download Errors: This will appear only if there were problems with adding any operator (such as if a required field wasn't filled in for them). This downloads an Excel file that lists the errors that caused any operator imports to fail. If this occurs, you can correct the errors in your operators.xlsx file and reupload it.

    • New Import: Begins the process of importing additional operators.

  9. If you are finished importing operators, click Done.

Your new operators will appear in the Manage Operators list.
