To save an iOn report's results, you'll need to export them and store the file export, such as on your computer, cloud, or network folder. To do so, follow these steps:

Note: Be aware that your user role will need to have the privilege to use the Reports screen in order for you to be able to run reports. (If you need to run a report and you don't have that privilege, contact your organization's iOn administrator.)

  1. Run the report as shown in Running a Report.

Caution: Before you begin to run the report, make sure that you have the parameters you need to set planned out (the groups, assets, operators, and so on) and dedicated time to complete the procedure. The Reports screen times out after 30 minutes of inactivity, so if you stop in the middle of the task and try to return to it, you'll have to start over.

  2. At the top left of the report results, click .

The formats you can export the results to will appear.
These are how the results appear for each option:
    • PDF: For an Adobe portable document format file using a text-formatted, paginated look.
    • Excel (Paginated): For a Microsoft Excel file using a text-formatted, paginated look. The second (and subsequent) page of results will have its own header.
    • Excel: For a Microsoft Excel file using a text-formatted look. However, this isn't paginated, which means the second (and subsequent) page of results won't have its own column header.
    • CSV: For a simple, comma-separated value file. In Excel, this won't have any text formatting applied.
You can also open this in Notepad and see that even empty fields will have a comma to separate them from the next value.
  3. Select the format you want from the drop-down list.
If you chose either Excel option or CSV, the report results will be downloaded (depending on your browser's settings).
If you chose PDF, the PDF will appear on a second tab, and you can click the download icon and save it to the location of your choice.
  4. You can save or move the downloaded file to any destination you need.
