Geofence events occur when your assets enter and exit your designated landmarks (areas of interest to your organization, such as job sites or vehicle yards). There are a couple of different ways of viewing and acknowledging your current geofence events: via the Geofence Events icon () in the banner or via the Geofence Events option on the accordion menu, as described in the following two sections.

Note: To acknowledge a geofence event, in iOn terms, means that you are verifying for all the other users in your organization that the geofence event has been seen and, if necessary, handled (for example, if the landmark that was entered was a prohibited zone, so the driver's manager needed informed). Generally, only responsible parties should be acknowledging geofence events.

The first two sections below show how to acknowledge a single geofence event. To see how to acknowledge several geofence events at once, skip down to the third section, "Acknowledging Multiple Geofence Events."

Via the  Banner Icon

To see and acknowledge your geofence events using the  banner icon, follow these steps:

  1. Click  in the site banner.
Note: The number to the top right of the icon indicates how many unacknowledged geofence events you have. (99+ means that you have a hundred or more unacknowledged events.)
The Geofence Events panel will drop down and display the most recent geofence events your organization has received.

Whether or not the asset is currently being tracked (Active, as opposed to Inactive [when the asset has only historical data]) will appear just below its name.

  2. To refresh the list of geofence events, you can click  at the bottom right of the panel.

  3. To acknowledge one of the recent geofence events, you can click  to its right.

  4. You can open the Geofence Events screen by clicking View All at the bottom of the Geofence Events drop-down panel. (See the following section for more details.)

Via the Geofence Events Accordion Menu Option

To see and acknowledge your geofence events using the Geofence Events option on the accordion menu, follow these steps:

  1. Click  >> Geofence Events.

The Geofence Events screen will appear and display all the unacknowledged geofence events your organization has received, with the most recent on top.

Note: For details about the features of the Geofence Events screen, go to Navigating the Geofence Events Screen.
  2. To acknowledge a geofence event, you can click  at the far right in its row.
Note: If the Geofence Events screen is set to its default display (which shows only unacknowledged geofence events), this will appear to delete the geofence event, as it will no longer be shown. This doesn't delete the geofence event, though, and you can see it by selecting Clear Filters at the bottom of the screen; it will now have a value of "Yes" in the Acknowledged column.

Acknowledging Multiple Geofence Events

To acknowledge several geofence events at once, follow these steps:

  1. Click  >> Geofence Events.

The Geofence Events screen will appear and display all the unacknowledged geofence events your organization has received, with the most recent on top.

Note: For details about the features of the Geofence Events screen, go to Navigating the Geofence Events Screen.
  2. Click the check box at the far left of the row of each geofence event you want to acknowledge.

  3. At the bottom right of the screen, click Acknowledge Selected.
Note: If the Geofence Events screen is set to its default display (which shows only unacknowledged geofence events), this will appear to delete the geofence events, as they will no longer be shown. This doesn't delete the geofence events, though, and you can see them by selecting Clear Filters at the bottom of the screen; they will now have a value of "Yes" in the Acknowledged column.
